Jason Grech was born in Melbourne and initiated his fervent relationship with fashion at Kangan Batman TAFE in 1997. Within two weeks of work experience at one of Australia's signature women's fashion houses, Jason was offered employment as a cutter and, before long, was fulfilling the role of senior patternmaker, designer and workroom manager. It was the fateful meeting between Jason Grech and Harry Georgiou that stimulated the launch of JASONGRECH in late 2003. The pair went on to produce their first wholesale collection that, once precariously distributed throughout Australia, sold out within weeks. The opening of their Melbourne flagship store opened in late 2004. The JASONGRECH store is in a unique art deco lane way in the heart of Melbourne’s fashion precinct, and offers a stylish and refined shopping experience. This environment reflects the boutique high-end designer range of clothing that is JASONGRECH. JASONGRECH is a duo of creative fashion designers and they focus on developing beautiful locally made clothing. The duo have refined the Australian sizing range by adding different body shapes into their size equation. They create pieces for different body shapes creating an outstanding fit for all real women. They encourage women to forget their fear of colours like bright blue for added interest and to promote experimentation with intricate detailing for increasing texture.
It is Jason and Harry’s attention to detail and individual requirements that have the front rows of their fashion shows glittering with celebrity luminaries and a long line of entertainment icons, such as Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Andi Lew and Sonia Kruger enjoying hand woven garments as they gear up to shine at the nations more glamorous affairs.
From the red carpet of the Logies to the Brownlow, the sexy creations of JASONGRECH are often selected to adorn A-list celebrities at high profile events, and have graced the covers of respected publications including Melbourne Magazine and City Style. |
